This section covers trips as a
girl into the real world, not to "safe venues / clubs" ....
Preface
.... Apart from private dinner parties and gatherings in 2002, my first
club outing was with my wife was to Transmission in December 2002,
followed quickly by Reading Beaumonts Society suppers, Stormes in
London, Reading Beaumonts "everydayland" pub meals and Mayflower
meetings. Reading Stormes started during 2003 as did Surrey Swans in
Ash.
2004:
what a year so far I'm out and about .... confidance growing ....
feeling great ....
Early
in March 2004 my son went to Japan for 3 weeks ... giving Sarah some
serious space to breath. Apart from clubs fully dressed, I
hadn't done any out and about in daylight for many years, I did a trip
out in Bracknell in day light about 1985 , but my wife chickened out at
the last minute and I was only out of the car in the high street for
about 10 minutes.
So given the time, and knowing in my heart I could fit in in public, I
had to start proving it to myself.
I've done a few trips shopping in Cambereley in what I call "Andro"
mode for a while in 2002/2003 .. girls jeans and trainers, blouse with
small "chicken fillets" in a "A" cup bra, very light makeup and subtle
jewelery, but time had arrived to push on and do it "properly"
....
Last year I also made a few trips out to Waitrose supermarket in
Sunningdale on a Sunday morning, Andro, and a couple of times "casual
femme" in a long denim skirt and kitten heeled shoes. Maybe I had
started, I suppose, but I still felt I haddn't really been out. Things
needed to move on, I wanted to feel accepted in society, I could only
secure those feelings by going out and doing it in day time, trying to
do the ordinary things women do ...
Women lead many different lives, what is ordinary for one is different
to another. I created a list in my head "working", "pampering",
"lunching and dinning" and of course "shopping" !!!!
Well working as such is out, till I'm really out with anyone and
starting to transition properly, but dressing in a style of a worker,
an office worker, would suit being out and about doing other things.
Pampering
.. hairdressers / beauticians for a morning of pampering .. yes I will
do this eventually ...
"Lunching
and dinning" is something you never seem to see a girl doing solo,
except maybe grabbing a lunch snack while out shopping, makes a mental
note that I'll ( you'll ) need a friend for this ....
Shopping
... oh yes shopping .. girls love to shop, and this one does for sure.
Shopping can be done solo or with a friend and this I decided was going
to be my startting point.
